Make Space To Create: What’s in Your Art Trolley? | Create Art School

Apr 22, 2026

Make Space To Create (and what’s in your trolley?)

You don’t need a perfect studio to enjoy art. Take a peek inside Helen’s trolley and get inspired to create your own simple, welcoming art space at home.

Over the next few weeks, we’re starting something simple… and really rather lovely.

Make Space To Create

Not a big overhaul.

Not a perfect studio.

Just a small, welcoming space where you can enjoy your art.

And to kick things off, I've been having a little rummage through my studio trolley…

From stamps and stickers to pencils, books on women artists, and the odd bit of sellotape... it’s full of those everyday bits that quietly support creativity.

It’s such a nice reminder that creativity doesn’t come from having everything just right…

it comes from using what’s already around you.

And that’s the heart of Make Space To Create.

It might be:

a corner of the kitchen table

a tray you bring out in the evening

a drawer full of materials

a little set-up by the window

or even a trolley like  mine.

Nothing fancy. Just yours.

A little question for you…

What’s hiding in your art stash?

And do you have a favourite or “lucky” item you always keep nearby when you create?

We’d genuinely love to hear... just hit reply and tell us (photos very welcome too!).

Over the next few weeks, we’ll gently help you:

find a space that works for you

rediscover materials you’ve forgotten

make your corner feel a bit more inspiring

and enjoy regular creative time at home

A creative space doesn’t need to be perfect.

It simply needs to welcome you back.
