Create! art school is where I help people relax, unwind, unleash their creativity and make beautiful art.
Hello I'm Helen and I own and run Create! art school. I'm passionate about art and helping others discover their inner artist. My nurturing and supportive classes will allow you to immerse yourself in drawing, painting, printing or craft. Online or in-studio...my classes will fit into your life.
I firmly believe that anyone can be creative, you just need to give yourself the time, space and a little help to get there. As a busy mum of 2, a business owner and former Head of Art in a Secondary School, I understand the pressure life puts on us.
The act of mindfully creating art helps us achieve mental wellbeing, and physical relaxation. I also know how easy it is not to give ourselves the time to do things we love. That's where I come in.....Create! art hub gives you that chance to escape real life for a bit, and immerse yourself into a completely mindful activity.
Since setting up the business in 2017, I have helped hundreds of people, adults and children, unleash their creativity.

We will be using a different medium each month such as painting, drawing, or a combination of different materials (mixed media).
The materials we will use are simple and affordable: Helen will publish a schedule of classes and the materials needed for each one so you will know which to find or buy for each month.
The materials we will use are: pencil, pencil crayon, pen (fineliner - water soluable), pen (biro - waterproof), charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastel, watercolour pencil, dippy pen and ink, ink, watercolour, gouache, acrylic.
The video will be available for catch up if you can’t make the live session.

Learn about an artist: watch and listen to a mini lecture on the month's chosen artist.

Your classes have been inspirational, and you are so wonderful in encouraging me/us all that everyone can be artistic and not to worry about mistakes because you can just change the piece accordingly! I am so enjoying the variety of classes you provide, which are excellent, and I no longer think that I am completely rubbish - and that’s all through your fabulous teaching & making everything fun to do. (I will never forget my first class with you when the bird I drew/painted actually looked like a bird! In fact, I am quite proud of it!). You have opened up a new world for me.
For my birthday earlier this year, one of my sisters got me a fabulous art portfolio which I can now store all my work in (I’m not throwing anything away - following your advice!), and my other sister got me a picture frame which holds 3 pictures - it is so easy just to change them around depending upon what I have done week by week/month by month. Following on from today’s conversation, I thought that I would send you a few photo’s of this frame with some of the different combinations of art that I have most recently displayed (behind our kitchen door, so that it’s very easy to see, but not too much in the open - still needing a bit of confidence to put anywhere else). My family are all most impressed with how I am progressing, and what I am achieving - they are the best art critique group I could have; so kind & encouraging."
