Happy New Year Blog Post Goodbye 2020

So, as 2020 comes to a close, and we wave the back of it, we can reflect on the events of the past year.

And….Hopefully not see another year like this again, because it's been a very strange one.

But for me it's challenged me completely out of my comfort zone. I always feel like you have to take the best from everything and move forward with it.

I vividly remember that day in March when my daughter was crying on me because I had to shut the studio. I literally thought that was the end for my business. But it’s mostly thanks to you, my lovely, lovely customers who have kept me going through the craziness….your insatiable appetite for art has motivated me to keep creating with you all! The support you showed me and Create! has meant the world to me so a MASSIVE THANKYOU!!!!!!

With the help of a couple of key people I also ventured into a whole different kind of business with the launch of my video courses.

So a HUGE thanks must also go to Victoria Branch of VB Marketing, and Steve Cowper, of Cowper Media, for helping me change the course of Create! forever.

Some other highlights of the year for me have been:

·         The Zoom classes: Meeting and creating with people from all over the place including the USA, France and Reading  ðŸ¤£

·         Create! TV: Running during lockdown for the kids (sometimes chaotically co-presented by my daughters)

·         The launch of the new Facebook Art Club which is providing such a positive outlet for people.

·         The lockdown art challenges: something to keep us going through the first, seemingly endless lockdown.

·         Winning DanSoup funding: to allow people with anxiety access free art classes

·         One off ‘fun’ classes: like mixed media, pen and watercolour flowers and acrylic portraits.

·         And finally…wreath making online….it had it’s challenges… but it was great fun!

In a lot of ways, it's been the best year but for me because I've learned so much about how Create! is going to move forward. I’m so excited about 2021, there’s lots coming up to keep you creative.

With us looking likely to be in and out are various 'tiers' for the next few months I’ve decided to halt face to face studio classes until end of February and then review. It’s proving a stressful job to keep chopping and changing plans. I do hope you understand my decision.  But the good news is you can still join all of my classes live on line.... the powers of technology!

I’ve rejigged the website to make it even more user friendly so please take a look and let me know if there are any glitches.

So here's to a very lovely creative new year.

Best wishes and Happy New Year to you,

love,

Helen xx
