Evelyn De Morgan was a British painter who lived from 1855 to 1919.

She was known for her richly coloured canvases featuring beautifully draped figures and delivering messages of feminism, spirituality, and the rejection of war and material wealth.

De Morgan was also a pacifist and a supporter of the women's suffrage movement.

She was married to the potter and designer William De Morgan.

Her work is now on display in museums and galleries around the world.
